Daylight coffee and night-shift coffee are not the same job.

When you clock in after dark, the usual “bright morning blend” can feel off — too sharp, too early-day, not quite right for a stretch that starts when most folks are winding down. That’s the gap Moonlighting was built for: night-shift coffee when the hours run long.
What Moonlighting is for
Moonlighting is the roast for after-dark clock-ins, late callouts, and the hours when the shop lights are the only sun you’ll see.
It’s not a gimmick name. It’s a clear job: give night crews something that tastes like it belongs in the cup at 10 p.m., 2 a.m., and the long ride home. Pour it in a thermos before your shift. Keep a pot at the shop. Share it with the crew that works when the rest of town is asleep.
If your week flips between days and nights, keep Moonlighting next to your daytime roast so you’re not forcing a breakfast cup into a midnight shift.
When to pick each roast
Five blends. Clear jobs. Here’s a simple way to choose.
Breakfast Blend — early mornings
Bright start for early callouts. Reach for this when the alarm is brutal and you want the day to open up fast. Great for early mornings and anyone who likes a cleaner, livelier cup before the sun is up.
Winter Blend — cold mornings on the patch
Deeper warmth for weather that bites. When the wind cuts across the lot and you’re filling a thermos with gloves on, Winter Blend is the comfort pick — still coffee-first, just rounder for cold days.
Moonlighting — nights and late shifts
Clock-in after dark. Overnight shop work. Long stretches where “morning roast” doesn’t fit the mood. Moonlighting is the one you grab when the shift lives on the other side of the clock.
Black Gold Medium — the everyday staple
Rich, steady, and built for the thermos. If you want one bag that covers most days without thinking about it, Black Gold Medium is the patch default. Shop pots, truck jugs, weekend garage coffee — it holds up.
Black Gold Dark — bold days on the pad
When you want more punch in the cup, go Dark. Hard days, long hauls, or just a preference for a deeper roast — Black Gold Dark shows up without turning into ashtray bitterness when you brew it right.
A simple crew setup
You don’t need all five on the shelf at once. A practical shop rotation:
- Black Gold Medium as the always-there pot coffee
- Moonlighting for night crews
- Breakfast Blend or Winter Blend as the seasonal / early-day swing
Rotate Black Gold Dark in when the crew asks for something bolder. Keep labels facing out so nobody grabs the wrong bag at 5 a.m. with half-open eyes.
Shipping that fits the work week
Every bag is fresh roasted to order through our roasting partner, Dripshipper, then shipped to your door (or the shop address you use). Restock before the next hitch instead of gambling on the last scoop in the can — and skip the stale warehouse bag.
Exact timing lives on our shipping page — we keep claims honest and the checkout simple.
Pour the night shift
If your shift starts when the sky goes black, start with Moonlighting. If you’re still figuring out your lineup, browse all five and match roast to hours — not to marketing slogans.
